The Pittsburgh Therapy Project

The mission of The Folding Chair Collective's The Pittsburgh Therapy Project is to reduce the barriers to mental health treatment and increase the quality of life for community members. We strive to help the Steel City bridge the gap and strengthen vulnerable populations through access to care and resources.

Mental Health Assistance Fund

The Folding Chair Collective, in partnership with Premier Psychotherapy, is committed to expanding access to quality mental health care throughout the Pittsburgh community. Through this assistance fund, limited financial support may be available to individuals and families experiencing barriers to treatment that are outside of their control.

Our mission is to build a sustainable fund that can continue serving our community for years to come. While resources are currently limited, we are actively working to expand the fund through community support, partnerships, and fundraising efforts so that more individuals and families can access the care they deserve.

Many people face obstacles that make receiving therapy difficult. For example, children placed in foster care often have insurance plans that many specialty mental health providers are unable to accept. Others may experience unexpected financial hardships or other circumstances that limit their ability to obtain care. This fund exists to help reduce those barriers and increase access to compassionate, high-quality mental health services.

Funding Assistance Disclaimer

Financial assistance is administered through The Folding Chair Collective and is available on a limited basis. Assistance is subject to available funding, eligibility criteria, and clinical appropriateness. Availability of financial assistance is not guaranteed, and receiving services through Premier Psychotherapy does not guarantee eligibility for or receipt of funding.

If you are taking the courageous step of seeking support but are experiencing financial or other barriers to accessing services, we encourage you to reach out. Whether through our limited assistance fund or by connecting you with other community resources, we will do our best to help you find a path to the care and support you need.

Support the Pittsburgh Therapy Project fund

Access to mental health care should never depend solely on someone's financial circumstances. Every donation to The Folding Chair Collective's Mental Health Assistance Fund helps reduce barriers to care for individuals and families in our community who are experiencing financial hardship or other obstacles to treatment.

Your generosity helps build a sustainable resource that can provide hope, healing, and access to quality mental health services for those who need it most. Whether your gift is large or small, every contribution strengthens our community and brings someone one step closer to receiving the support they deserve.

Together, we can create a community where asking for help is met with opportunity, compassion, and care.

The Folding Chair Collective is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please consult your tax advisor regarding your specific tax situation.
