About Lauren
"With a degree in Counseling and Expressive therapies I am a registered expressive art therapist, licensed professional counselor and supervisor.
I fully embrace the belief that just because we might not know what the answer is doesn’t mean there isn’t one. Together we can learn to release the need to control and allow for the answers to emerge through creative flow.
My approach is rooted in the belief that there is an innate and powerful sense of creativity within each of us, waiting to be unlocked. Through my traditional counseling and expressive art therapies, I work to bridge the gap between the undercurrent of emotions and our conscious awareness. I strive to provide an environment which encourages my clients to explore hidden feelings, build resilience and uncover their inner strength which they can use to navigate their daily challenges. By tapping into that creative energy, together we can find an alternative path which leads away from struggle and towards sustained wellbeing.
In expressive arts therapy, individuals are encouraged to explore the creative process freely, without judgment or expectation. Playing with various art modalities, one can access the richness of their personal stories, thoughts, and emotions that are often difficult to express through words alone."

Expressive arts therapy is for everyone
“We express inner feelings by creating outer forms. Expressive art refers to using the emotional, intuitive aspects of ourselves in various media. To use the arts expressively means going into our inner realms to discover feelings and to express them through visual art, movement, sound, writing or drama.”— Natalie Rogers, The Creative Connection
Expressive arts therapy
Ever felt stuck in life and wished you had a creative way out? Expressive art therapy can be a great resource for those moments. Using the framework of creativity and arts in psychotherapy can provide new insights into our lives, leading us away from chaos and towards clarity.
Expressive art therapy assumes that everyone has the capacity to respond creatively to the situations that they find themselves in.
Even if you think you don't have a creative bone in your body, expressive arts therapy might be the perfect outlet for you. This form of therapy focuses on freeing yourself through the process of creation rather than producing a specific result.
